Essay writing is always considered as a boring and cumbersome job and that’s because students are usually not aware of the essay writing tips and also some don’t know the standard format of an essay. Here, we are concluding 10 easy steps for writing an essay:

When you are about to write an essay, consider for whom you are writing and who your target audience is. Follow these steps and you will find yourself relaxed and relieved.

Research:  Research your topic, utilise every source you have and within your reach; for instance, the Internet, academic papers, any samples or data related to the topic, journals and magazines etc.

Analysis: After gathering enough material and data, start analysing the arguments you have written or collected for including them in your essay. Include claims, reasons and evidences to make your argument strong. Analyse other’s work or samples and you will learn how to analyse.

Brainstorming: it’s a process helpful in cutting down the irrelevant ideas coming in your mind and helps in picking up the right ones. Brainstorming is a must to do before writing an essay because you cannot afford to miss any important point.

Thesis: A thesis is a major argument and will keep you on track. Pick your main argument and write it as concise as possible and able to deliver the major theme of your essay. Remember, a clear thesis needs a thesis statement.

Outline: Prepare an outline before putting your pen on paper, sketch main points and consider making titles for each subheading or main heading. Your essay structure must be unified and well organised.

Now develop an essay format like:

INTRODUCTION: For writing a catchy introduction, pick out the real issues and interesting argument or questions to include them in your essay. While writing, make sure you are convincing enough to influence your reader to read the whole essay.

BODY: Summarise the main points of your essay in separate paragraphs and don’t forget to discuss one argument at a time. Place evidences to support your argument or quote some relevant text. Write more about your ideas and thoughts rather than generalising it.

CONCLUSION: End up your essay in a noble manner and try to conclude the major points in your conclusion; try to wind up the arguments and thesis statement in this paragraph.

Format:
Choose a standard format for your essay according to the guidelines of citation. All references should be cited properly and you should enlist the details of the sources you have used.

Language: Here comes rechecking and proofreading; check for the spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. Check the tone and language that has been used and also check the transitions and flow of the essay. No matter you are writing in favor or against any topic, don’t use abusive words or don’t try to impose your view point on readers.
